Stephanie Robinson founded AA Abroad: the indispensable travel guide for African-Americans abroad in 2003 while living and working in Buenos Aires, Argentina as a Refugee Status Determination Consultant for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. She is a foreign affairs professional in Washington, DC where she has also practiced immigration and refugee law. Stephanie is a graduate of Brown University where she received a B.A. in Development Studies in 1987, and an M.A. in Brazilian Studies in 1988. She is also a 1993 graduate of Case Western Reserve School of Law. Stephanie has lived and studied in Salvador, Bahia Brazil, and lived and worked in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Kampala, Uganda. Her travels include visits to India, Switzerland, France, Italy, London, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Mexico, Panama, the Dominican Republic, Barbados, Trinidad, and Haiti where she was frequently mistaken for everything but an American–hence the blog.
